Who this is for
Owners and general managers of service-based businesses — typically 8 to 80 people — who sense that growth has outpaced how the week is organised. Common settings include trade firms, clinical practices, creative agencies, property services, and hospitality groups with multiple sites.
You already know something is sticking. Quotes linger. Supervisors firefight. Clients ask for updates that nobody can answer quickly. The Operations Review is designed for that moment, before you hire another layer of management in hope.
What you receive
- A written findings brief covering capacity, delivery standards, and handoff friction
- A ranked sequence of improvements (usually 5–8) with effort and impact notes
- A short briefing session with the owner and one nominated manager
- Optional follow-up check-in four weeks after the brief is delivered
What is included
We interview the owner and key supervisors, shadow a representative work week (or reconstruct it from diaries and job sheets when travel is limited), and review how enquiries become booked work and completed delivery. We examine roster pressure, quote turnaround, quality checks, and the places where unfinished work waits for a decision.
What is excluded
We do not rewrite your financial model, redesign your brand, or install software. We do not replace your managers. If payroll, tax, or legal advice is required, we will say so and point you to an appropriate adviser.
How the engagement runs
- Discovery call (30–45 minutes) — confirm fit, sites involved, and access to people and records.
- Kick-off — agree the sample week, interviewees, and confidentiality expectations.
- Fieldwork — interviews and observation over two to three weeks.
- Synthesis — draft the brief; one clarification call if facts need checking.
- Delivery — present findings and leave the ranked action sequence with your team.
Preparation
Please nominate a single internal contact. Gather recent job sheets, a sample of open quotes, and a plain description of how a typical job moves from booking to invoice. No polished reports are required — raw material is better.
Constraints
Travel outside the Auckland region is billed separately or handled via hybrid sessions. Multi-site businesses may need a longer window; we confirm that before quoting. Work already underway with another consultant on the same process map should be disclosed so we do not conflict.
Fees and next step
Fees start at NZD 8,400 for a single-site review of a firm under 25 people. Larger or multi-site scopes are quoted after the discovery call. To begin, request a discovery call and tell us what is breaking first.
